Happy Monday!

This week is Open House week!  Mrs. Fowler will be sending out the information and zoom links this week! I am excited to see you all!

Today in math we practiced Rounding!  We started off with smaller numbers and then we continued with larger numbers!  Tonight for homework, they are practicing rounding by looking for the underlined place value.  I did include the Rounding Poem we used today as a checklist for rounding.  Please let me know if your child struggled with tonight’s homework.  We will be continuing this practice tomorrow!

In reading we continued working on responding to reading passages by using sentence starters and adding details from the books we are reading to help make predictions.  We will continue this tomorrow as well!

We started a new week with spelling.  Tonight your child will have a copy of the list and the flash cards!  These are to STAY HOME and practice nightly.  Their homework is copying the words 2x, and please remind your child that it is double sided!

Thursday’s fun!

Happy ALMOST Friday!

We continue to work on getting into our routine!  Some of us need more reminders than others, but we are building a helpful classroom community.  It makes me proud to see others helping others!

Today we wrapped up our Spelling practice packet in school.  Tomorrow will be our spelling test.  Please help your child navigate studying.  They may need to find their own method.  I will continue to provide the list and the flash cards for the first trimester and then I’ll ask for feed back on who really uses them!

In math today we continued to practice reading whole numbers and not adding the word “and” in between numbers.  We continue to practice writing numbers in expanded form reviewing the values of reach number within the number.

I am looking forward to meeting you all at our Open House next week; Mrs. Fowler will be sending more information about that soon!

Oppsy, forgot yesterday!

Look at that, I already forgot one day! So sorry!

Today we continued to work on our Growth Mindset by coloring strategies that we can use when we get stuck or get into a fixed mindset!

In math, we continued our talk with Place Value.  If you can work on reading numbers at home that would be great!  We are struggling with that!

It was VERY hot and muggy today, we tried to take additional mask breaks, but with our crazy schedule it was difficult.  We did have lunch outside, so that was nice!

Homework:

Math: Expanded Form Math Sheet (Orange numbers only OR they can do the whole thing)

Reading:  25 minutes

Spelling:  Word Search (your child’s agenda book says crossword puzzle, but we did that in class, my bad!)
